The pricing includes everything (labour and materials). No added charges, no surprises. We encourage a tip if you are happy with the work of the Genie. The tip is not included in the pricing and can be paid once the order has been cooked for you. The tip is optional.

The food is cooked, and the genie is ready to leave. Do I tip the genie?
The prices are all inclusive (ingredients and labour). We recommend you tip the Genie if you had a good experience. To tip the genie you can give cash or please reach out to us so that we can charge the tip to your card.
Do I need to be in the kitchen while the genie is cooking?
You do not need to stay in the kitchen while the cooking appt is going on. But please feel free to engage in a few minutes of conversation, (by following social distancing) the genies may appreciate it as well. It is their first time in your home & it may help them to feel welcome.
My appointment is 4–6 PM. What does that mean?
It means the genie will arrive at your home by 4 pm to cook your meal & will finish up around 6 pm.
How long is an appt?
An appointment is minimum 1.5 hours. And depending on the number of dishes or complexity of the dish, it may go up. We will let you know if the appt will run over the 2-hour time.
When the genie arrives, what does the genie need from me?
Please show the genie around the kitchen, so he/she can familiarize with the essentials like pots/pans/kitchen equipment/spatulas/cleaning supplies/salt/sugar/oil.
Will the genie bring all the utensils needed for the cooking?
In most cases, the genies use your utensils/equipment. For certain dishes, the genie may use a special pot/pan and bring his/her own.
When will the genie arrive at my home?
A genie will arrive on the time of your appointment with all the groceries needed to cook your meal.

When can I use cookingenie?
You can use it on a date of your choice. You can book a genie on any weekday or weekend, for lunch or for dinner.
Can I ask to replace one ingredient with a similar ingredient?
Sure, the place to do this is in the special instruction box. We will get back in touch with you in case the dish cannot be altered.
Do the Genies serve the food?
Many of our Genies are excellent at plating. Genies won’t wait for you to eat. But if you want the food to be plated in a certain way, please request our genies and they will do their best to support you. Can we do custom request to Genie?
Yes, at the time of checking out, you will get an option to leave special instructions for each dish. You can ask for customization in that box. If your customization changes the pricing of the dish, we will be in touch with you with a refund or an upcharge.
Can I reschedule my appointment?
In most cases, it is possible to reschedule appointments with a 24-hour notice. If you have an emergency, we will do our best to accommodate our needs. All rescheduling related to health reasons are free.

Can I purchase a gift card?
You can purchase gift cards for a variety of occasions – Father’s day, Mother’s day, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Holidays. Not to mention gift cards for a variety of people in your life – teachers, significant others etc.
What is the validity of gift card?
Our gift cards have a 12-month validity period. In some special cases, we may offer you a limited time promotional gift card. If in doubt, call support and we can verify this for you.
