John Geschrei
Originally from Chicago, Chef John developed an interest in the culinary arts just out of high school working in some of Chicago’s great hotel kitchens in entry-level positions. Deciding to further his passion for all things cooking, he attended culinary school and then started his professional career shortly thereafter primarily in hotel kitchens where he was exposed to multiple foods and beverage concepts and cuisine. As an accomplished Executive Chef for over 35 years for many brands including Omni Hotels, Westin Hotels and Resorts, and Wyndham Hotels, among many others. In addition, he also performed culinary stages in Spain and Chile and experienced great exposure to other food cultures and culinary techniques. He has also had the opportunity to work in some of the great culinary destinations of the U.S. including New York, Chicago, and Houston, as well as in the tri-state area where he was the Executive Chef at Belterra Casino Resort for over 10 years before finally going into semi-retirement last year.
