Chef Chris, Ohio native, is the former executive chef at The Coach House Tavern and current CEO of Nomad Food Trucks, Ltd. He fondly remembers as a kid watching his grandma create country meals from ingredients grown in a small homestead garden. Watching her, how she instinctively combined those fresh garden flavors, how she never used a measuring cup or spoon, how she created not only a meal but also a memory. As a young adult he struggled to find a profession that was the right fit for him. After several years of searching, he attended the Art Institute of Cincinnati where he rediscovered his passion for cooking that he had felt watching his grandma all those years ago. Chef Chris’s culinary career began at The Coach House Tavern in Hamilton, Ohio where he spent eight years sharpening his knives and skills. He first served as a line cook, then as sous chef under renowned local, Chef Jared Whalen. Eventually, he was made executive chef. In this role he developed the concept of community-sourced menus with ingredients from local farms and businesses rather than big box chains. Chef Chris is now the CEO of Nomad Food Trucks, Ltd, his own, recently formed company where he hopes to give his community the same farm to table experience he had in grandma’s kitchen. He enjoys re-creating dishes from around the globe and adding his own flare. He inherited his grandma’s instinct for irresistible and sometimes surprising flavor combinations, but more importantly, he inherited her talent for crafting more than just a meal. He has found that through food he can create a shared experience with people from diverse backgrounds, ages, and ethnicities. Chef Chris looks forward to bringing meals that create memories to your home.
