Paleo refers to a nutritional approach based on the presumed eating patterns of our Paleolithic ancestors. Also known as the Paleolithic diet or caveman diet, Paleo emphasizes whole, unprocessed foods and avoids modern agricultural products.

At its core, the Paleo diet encourages eating lean meats, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds—foods that would have been hunted or gathered before farming became widespread. It eliminates grains, legumes, dairy, refined sugar, and most processed foods. The goal is to align modern eating habits more closely with how humans evolved to eat over thousands of years.

Advocates of Paleo claim it can support weight loss, reduce inflammation, and improve energy levels by cutting out foods that may contribute to chronic disease. While research on its long-term effects is ongoing, many people find that Paleo helps them feel more in control of their eating habits and overall wellness.
